Measuring Is So Important

Kilt size is different from pant size. For the most accurate fit, measure at the belly button (waist), hips, and the length from the belly button to the middle of the knee.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Works for Men & Women
🧍
1) Waist at Belly Button
Stand straight. Wrap the tape around your waist at the belly button. Keep it level and snug. Note the inches.
🩳
2) Hip Measurement
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips/seat. Keep the tape horizontal and snug but not tight. Note the inches.
📏
3) Length to Middle of Knee
Place the tape at the belly button and measure down to the middle of your knee. This is your kilt length.
✔️
4) Choose Your Drop
Men: We suggest a 24" regular drop (you may select any length you prefer).
Women: Same waist/hip method; length can be shorter. We suggest 18", but choose what suits your style.
Need help? Message us any time—share your waist, hips & length in inches, and we’ll double-check before stitching.

Love it. But tight, should have measured properly. So salad and fish for a month…👍

Better than I expected!

I was honestly expecting something made with cheap fabric, but to my surprise, and joy, this fabric isn't cheap-feeling at all! Nice, sturdy fabric, easy care instructions, and reasonably priced! I couldn't have asked for a better product at this price! Good job!

My kilt

The kilt needed a serious pleat pressing with starch on the knife pleats. I guess for the cost I shouldn't have expected more.

MacKay Ancient Tartan 16oz Wool Utily-Kilt

This is brilliant & is very similar in colour to my Grandfather's old & faded MacKay tartan kilt made in the 1890s. That, of course was a proper kilt made from about 9 yards of heavy woollen fabric. I very much like this lighter weight version with its clever use of an inverted box-pleat at the Centre Back & extremely useful pockets. I am a little concerned that the Press-studs may detach from the fabric as they're really designed for leather goods [I know because i am a retired haberdasher & Tailor] but provided the interfacing holds them in place they should survive regular wear
